Mom, Dad, it's been a rollercoaster of a year. Mom, through everything with your health, you stayed smiling and made sure everyone else was okay. That strength means more than I can say. And Dad, your calm and your humor have been our anchor. You've welcomed Aditi like your own daughter, and that means the world. A few special folks have really been there for my family, especially over this last year. To my aunt, Mira Maasi, despite everything that you've had going on over the past year as well, you still took the time to come here and bless us and support my mom, and that means everything.
And to Surinder Bedi Aunty, thank you for being the MVP this weekend, from helping mom through the toughest months to getting us all dressed for the ceremony. You've handled everything with a lot of care. To Vinita Bua, who flew all the way from Sydney, thank you not just for making that trip, but also being there on a day's notice for mom when she was preparing for surgery a few months ago.
You've always made us feel at home when we visit you in Australia, and it means so much to have you here now, closing that circle. To Dadi Aunty, Geetha Puri Aunty: happy 90th birthday. And really, especially to Dimple Aunty and Raj Uncle for making it possible for me to be here comfortably. To Surinder Uncle and Neeli Aunty, my adoptive Dada and Dadi, you've given me, my siblings, and even my parents a real model for generosity and grace.
And to my new little sister, Ananya: you've got two big brothers now. Congratulations, or sorry that happened. To Rohini Paati and Desika Thatha, thank you so much for everything that you've done. You guys are in your 80s and you're still unstoppable; I can't wait to see what the 90s have in store for you. Paati, you've been my mom's right hand, both in India and here since you got here, organizing, feeding, holding us all together. It means everything that you guys are both here. I know that this event has meant a lot to you guys.
To Sudhir Mama, Radha Aunty, and Neeraj Aunty, thank you all for running around these past few weeks, helping with gifts, luggage, and a million small things, especially Sudhir Mama and his family. As soon as they came here, they were taking work calls in India at 3 a.m. and still waking up to help us with all the things that had to be done. I don't know how you all did it. Thank you so much.
